The Virtual Observatory
Solar System Object
The SsoTEP service is currently a prototype which has been developed to
emphasize the interest of VOEvent technology.
It will be fully fonctionnal in mid 2013.
The SsoTEP project aims to build a VO-compliant information system to enable astronomers to receive on their
desktop the predictions of transient events which concern solar system objects (Sso), such as stellar occultations
or mutual events.
The current version of the service makes event notices available only for a set of mutual phenomena of
the binary asteroid 90 Antiope for 2007-2008 observational campaign.
The architecture of the SsoTEP service is based ontop of a database from which the events are extracted and
formatted in the IVOA's VOEvent
format (version 1.0).
The event are published via a graphical Message Timeline interface,
RSS 2.0 feed, and
OGC KML format which can be visualized, for example,
in Google Earth.
